Rock Cottage, Mawgan Creek
Welcome to Rock Cottage on Mawgan Creek
Over 400 years old, Rock Cottage stands alone in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on Mawgan Creek, a tidal tributary of the Helford River. Unique, picturesque, a little piece of paradise with a magnificent exclusive view, this traditional Cornish property sits in an acre of private grounds. Built on a projecting rock foundation, it enjoys an elevated position with water frontage on two sides. This is a very special place where you can escape everyday life, unwind and relax.

Birdsong is your company here and the gentle lapping of Mawgan Creek occasionally breaks the silence. Away from the crowds offering you privacy at all times, you can enjoy its large terraced grounds and well-tended waterside garden, woodland and a private foreshore where our sturdy rowing dinghy is moored. This beautiful holiday cottage comfortably accommodates four adults with two children or just a couple.

A ten minute walk takes you to the well stocked Mawgan village store and the Ship Inn. An established and family run holiday rental property for over 50 years, Rock Cottage has an enviable number of satisfied guests.

Additional Information
Rowing Boat – For many years we have provided a rowing dinghy for guests who wish to explore the Mawgan Creek. ‘Peggy’ is sturdy, 3.5m in length and suitable for up to four persons. She is available, weather and tides permitting, from Easter until late October when she is taken out of the water, refitted and rested during the winter months. Stone steps lead to a large wooden staging where children can crab fish with line and bacon, kayaks can be stored or you may fish for grey mullet, sea bass and flat fish. The dinghy is down on the rocky foreshore fixed to a running line.

Mawgan Creek – Access to the river, which may be unsuitable for some, is by the garden or through our woodland. Use of these facilities and the boat is at Your Own Risk. A tide table is provided so you may plan your outing. The Creek has approximately 3+ hours of water either side of high tide, and except for a small channel, drains completely. When this occurs, the myriad of water birds that live along the shoreline, will arrive to feed.
